Thank you for visiting our web site! We are honored that you may be bringing your child to our practice for their dental health needs. We pride ourselves on creating a fun and positive environment for your child's dental care. We are happy to see new patients from newborns to the age of 14 years, and we're able to see our existing patients until they graduate from college. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association recommend that a dental home be established for your child by the age of 1 year to start on the path of prevention of cavities and good oral health. Our dentists have undergone over a two year residency just in pediatrics to treat the special needs of healthy children or those with medical or developmental concerns.
Our office provides WiFi for parents who would like to bring their laptops. We also have Playstation 2's and XBoxes for the kids. We have overhead LCD TVs and headphones so your child can watch a movie while we are making their smile brighter!
Our office is different because WE WELCOME PARENTS INTO OUR EXAM ROOM AND TREATMENT ROOMS, YOUR CHILD DOESN'T GO BACK WITHOUT YOU! We only ask that you be an observer and not interfere with the doctor's interaction with your child. Our main focus is the care of your child, so everything will be explained to your child in terms that they can understand. We encourage any questions that you might have regarding your child's dental health.
Our office meets or exceeds all OSHA, CDC and ADA recommendations regarding infection control. All of our instruments are sterilized or disposable, and all of our hand-pieces are autoclaved (steam sterilized) for your child's protection. All of our dental treatment is performed utilizing self-contained units using only distilled water to provide the most hygienic environment for your child's treatment. We do not perform any amalgam (silver filling) restorations or use formocresol in our office. Our office is happy to be able to offer Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) as an interim treatment for select cases of childhood and adolescent caries (cavities). Please ask our dentists about any questions you may have about the use of SDF for your child.
We take pride in providing digital radiography, which decreases the amount of radiation exposure for the patients and allows the parents to be able to see the images on our chairside computers.
Cavities do occur, but our office tries to make the dental restorative experience as pleasant as possible for your child. Both, Dr. Gonzales and Dr. Waters, are licensed by the State of Texas to perform enteral (oral) and nitrous oxide (laughing gas) sedation in the office. We also have a dental anesthesiologist that comes to our office at least once a month to perform IV sedations. Dr. Gonzales also provides dental treatment in the OR under general anesthetic at Texas Pediatric Surgery Center in North Richland Hills.
Front Office & Clinical Staff
Our front staff is able to assist you with any of your scheduling or insurance questions. All our dental assistants are Texas certified RDA's and are also certified in nitrous oxide monitoring and coronal polishing to better care for our patients. All of the clinical staff at Dental Care 4 Kids are CPR certified and undergo continuing education classes annually to keep up with the latest in clinical and pediatric dentistry. Our two hygienists have over 20 years of experience in pediatric dentistry between them and are great at easing any apprehension that young children can experience. We're happy to welcome a few new smiling faces to our already experienced staff!
